Martin Whybrow for Folkestone and Hythe
Martin Whybrow, 51, is our Green Party councillor at KCC. A journalist by trade, he is standing as our parliamentary candidate for Folkestone & Hythe. He has championed a range of issues at KCC, including the living wage, cycling, better public transport, 20 mph limits, improved equality, and a range of environmental causes, as well as energetically helping his constituents.
Martin will be campaigning on these sorts of issues in the general election, as well as the need for social and other forms of affordable housing, protecting the NHS and renationalising the railways.
He says: "Having achieved a major breakthrough in the county elections, we have shown that the electorate will respond to our positive messages and policies. Along with our great team here in Shepway, I am looking forward to trying to do the same across the district in the general election."
