Steve Dawe: Green Party parliamentary candidate for Tonbridge and Malling

Steve Dawe has been a political campaigner since the mid 1970s. He works part-time for Kent Green Party as Press Officer and also lectures on a variety of Public Policy courses in a University. He has previously taught other subjects in universities including Development Studies, Environmental Policy and European Studies. He has worked recently for the Office of Green Member of the European Parliament, Caroline Lucas, and for the No Campaign, against the Euro. Steve is Green Party Candidate for Tonbridge and Malling and has stood for all levels of government for the Green Party.

Steve is married to Hazel, who is Green Party Candidate for Tunbridge Wells. They have three children between them.

Outside Party politics, Steve just completed a 3 year stint as Chair of Transition Town Tonbridge. He is Chair and Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator of the Barden Park Community Association and Neighbourhood Watch, Tonbridge. Steve's other memberships include: British Sociological Association; Campaign Against Arms Trade; Campaign Against Climate Change; Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament; Development Studies Association; Kent Against Live Exports; Kent Refugee Help; New Economics Foundation; Palestine Solidarity Campaign; Tonbridge Line Commuters; University Association for Contemporary European Studies; University and College Union (UCU).
