Tim Valentine: Green Party parliamentary candidate for Faversham and Mid Kent
Tim Valentine (55) has lived in Selling near Faversham for over 14 years. He is a Professor of at Goldsmiths, University of London, where he is Head of the Forensic Psychology Unit. His research on eyewitness identification has led to a change in the law on eyewitness identification procedures. He is also a director of Valentine Moore Associates Ltd and has worked as an expert witness for UK courts and the International Criminal Court. High profile cases include the murder of Jill Dando, the Lockerbie bomb, and the detention of Omar Deghayes in Guantanamo Bay.
Tim has led a campaign for Kent County Council to ‘Keep Kent Frack Free’, and has campaigned, with charity ShareAction, for the universities pension scheme to adopt an investment policy which reflects members’ ethical views. He is standing as a Green Party candidate because he passionately wants to save local NHS services, make the minimum wage a living wage, and protect local people from the fracking industry. Only the Green Party will end austerity, rebuild public services, cut energy bills by improving energy efficiency, and tackle the deficit by making sure multi-national corporations and the super-rich pay their fair contribution of tax.
